DLSA Budgam organises awareness programme

BUDGAM: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Budgam, in collaboration with Legal Literacy Club, Boys Higher Secondary School Budgam conducted an awareness programme on the Legal Services to Persons with Mental Illness and Persons with Intellectual Disabilities Scheme, 2024.

The programme was held under the supervision of O.P. Bhagat, Chairman, DLSA Budgam and under the guidance of Nusrat Ali Hakak, Secretary DLSA Budgam.

Members of the Legal Services Unit for Mentally ill Individuals and Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (LSUM), students, teachers & officials of DLSA and Boys Higher Secondary School Budgam attended the programme.

All the participants actively engaged in comprehensive discussions to deepen their understanding of the NALSA scheme 2024 and strategise its effective execution.

The scheme’s significance in ensuring access to justice for Persons with Mental Illness and Persons with Intellectual Disabilities was discussed at length.

Assistant LADC Budgam, Zahoor Ahmad Malik, addressed the attendees, highlighting the significance of the NALSA Scheme 2024 in safeguarding individuals with mental illnesses and intellectual disabilities. He emphasized the necessity of a collaborative approach to ensure the scheme’s successful implementation.

He stressed the importance of equipping participants with the knowledge and tools required for effective implementation of the scheme, ensuring justice reaches the most vulnerable sections of society and implementation of the NALSA scheme 2024 & also shared his practical experiences in the field.

All the participants actively participated in the discussions, sharing insights and experiences, contributing to a broader understanding of the scheme’s objectives and strategies for its successful implementation.
