In tranquil surroundings, I once felt secure,
Amidst blooming trees, where beauty did endure.
Majestic rivers flowed, and trails did unfold,
A picturesque haven, where my heart could hold.
My cozy room, a sanctuary so dear,
With soft blankets, and a bed that brought me cheer.
Fresh air danced with plants, and coffee’s sweet delight,
An air conditioner whispered, on warm summer nights.
But then, a realization dawned, like a whispered truth,
That all these comforts, were but temporary youth.
They were not mine, though I had made them my own,
And in an instant, they could be taken, leaving me to atone.
The nightmare came, and with it, destruction’s sway,
Everything vanished, in the blink of an eye’s gaze.
Nature’s beauty, and human craft, all lost to the ground,
Leaving only a barren landscape, devoid of sound.
Now, I stand on this empty land, a solitary figure too,
A poignant reminder, of life’s fleeting pursuit.
For in the blink of an eye, all can be undone,
And we are left with nothing, but the memories we’ve known.
