DC Kupwara visits Karnah, takes stock of situation

KUPWARA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan on Sunday conducted an extensive tour of Karnah sub-division to assess the situation after the recent border tensions which resulted in the damage of various houses and shop establishments.

During the tour, DC visited various families at Tangdar, Hajinard, Nachiyan, Shamspora, Baghbela, Batpora and Tarboni whose houses and shops were damaged by the cross-border shelling during the recent border tensions between the two countries.

DC assured the families that the Government and administration is committed to providing every possible support to them.

Ayushi also visited the sub-district hospital Tangdar, to take the firsthand appraisal of the healthcare facilities available in the border sub division. She inspected various sections of the hospital including OPD, IPD, Gynecology, OT, USG, X-Ray and others. She interacted with the patients and attendants and enquired about the treatment and healthcare facilities provided by the hospital.

The DC also interacted with the doctors and para-medical staff of the hospital and enquired about the availability of essential drugs and other amenities of the hospital. She directed them to work with concerted efforts and dedication to ensure proper treatment and well-being of the patients belonging to this border and far-flung subdivision.

The DC was accompanied by SDM Karnah, Zaffar Ahmad; Tehsildar and various officers from R&B, PHE and others.
