Early-morning power outage scheduled in Srinagar for flyover works

SRINAGAR: The Jammu & Kashmir Power Transmission Corporation Limited (JKPTCL) has announced a planned shutdown of key 33 kV feeders next week to facilitate the safe dismantling and de-stringing of conductors on the 132 kv Bemina–Rawalpora transmission line.

According to the Chief Engineer, JKPTCL, in order to carry out dismantling/ de-stringing of conductor between tower location no. 22 to 26 of 132 KV Bemina-Rawalpora Transmission line and allied necessary works for increasing the ground clearance of 132 KV (D/C) Bemina-Rawalpora Transmission line between Tower Location No. 24 to 26 necessitated due to construction of flyover at Sanat Nagar Chowk Srinagar, shutdown of several 33KV Silk Factory and 33 KV Rawalpora lines shall be carried out due to which all outgoing 33 KV feeders supplying areas: Allochibagh, Rambagh, Solina, Tulsibagh, Cargo, Rawalpora, Sanat Nagar, IE Sanat Nagar, Hyderpora, Majeed Bagh shall remain affected from 05.00 AM to 09.00 AM on 13 & 14 May, 2025.
