Srinagar: Police in Awantipora have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police spokesperson informed that during vehicular checking at Panzgam Railway Crossing, police intercepted a vehicle (Tata Sumo — JK13A-7136) with two persons on board. Identified as Parvaiz Ahmad Hajam, son of Abdul Rashid Hajam of Newa Pulwama, and Anees Mohammad, son of Ghulam Mohammad of Karimabad, both persons were arrested after 130 grams of cannabis-like substance was recovered from their possession.
The vehicle was also seized and a case registered under relevant sections of law at Police Station Awantipora for investigation.
