Mushaira held at Baramulla

BARAMULLA: As a tribute to the region’s literary and cultural legacy, the Baramulla Writers Forum organized a mushaira at Dak Bungalow, Baramulla here.

The event was attended by distinguished poets, writers besides students and literary enthusiasts from across North Kashmir.

Presided over by renowned literary figure Prof. Ghulam Hassan Baig, known by his pen name Aftab, the mushaira featured celebrated poets including Fayaz Tilgami, Mushtaq Kirmani, Anzar Mohjoo, Nazir Talib, Showkat Habib, Bashrat Bukhari, Dr. Parvaiz Yousuf, Mrs. Lahaina, Dr. Riyaz Rabani, Abdul Rashid Bhat and Bashir Zoogari.

Besides, Sagar Nazir, Ibni Shahbaz, Gul Mir, Abdul Ahad Aliham, Abdul Gafar, M. Sultan Mulani, Sadia Showkat, Sabir Mohiuddin, Tameel Bashir, Tahural Rehman, Muneeb Narwari, Rafaqat Hafeez, Mudasir, Rashid Kanispuri, Shabnam Vijpuri, Mufti Bashir, and Abdul Rehman Sayha also participated in the programme.

The event saw evocative recitations on love, identity, social justice, and human resilience. The diverse poetic styles and voices on display offered insight on contemporary Kashmiri thought and sentiment.

Students from Government Degree College Baramulla also participated in the event, underlining the growing interest in literature among the younger generation.
