JAMMU: The government intends to facilitate the infrastructure development, research funding and industrial collaboration for the young, inspiring engineers so that they can play a pivotal role in placing the country at the top position in the world economy.
This was stated by Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Kumar Choudhary, while addressing a gathering during the 10th National Conference and exhibition on Emerging Innovation and Trends in Engineering Technology (NCEEITET) organised by Government College of Engineering & Technology (GCET), Jammu.
The conference is being organised in technical collaboration with IIT Kharagpur and in association with the World Consortium of Universities, supported by IIT Roorkee and MNRE (GoI).
The Dy CM appreciated the efforts of GCET Jammu in organising the National Conference, which aims to provide a common platform to the academicians, researchers, students and industry professionals to interact and deliberate on the latest trends and advancements in technology, research avenues and industry requirements. The event would raise the academic standards, build collaborative alliances and above all, provide much-needed exposure to the students of different engineering colleges across J&K.
Choudhary reiterated that the Industry professionals of J&K must open the channels for providing industrial training to the students to harness their skills and potential.
The Dy CM urged youth to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and called upon them to find alternatives to public sector jobs by setting up their own business ventures.
Lauding the role of CPSUs/PSUs in the development of the country, he invited the industry professionals to tap their resources in the development of J&K as a contribution towards corporate social responsibility. He emphasised that the conference would provide a common platform to exchange innovative ideas and knowledge between the academicians, students, researchers and industry to serve society in a better way.
The two-day programme of the conference consisted of technical sessions, invited and plenary talks from eminent personalities, researchers and industry professionals. In addition, workshops and displays of exhibits by CPSUs/PSUs were the highlights of the events.
Member of Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma, ACS Education Shantmanu, Principal GCET, Dr. Sumeru Sharma, along with other dignitaries, Professors, staff members and students were present during the conference.
