Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Awantipora and Sopore and recovered contraband, psychotropic substances and cash from their possession.
According to a police spokesperson, at Reshipora (Awantipora) police arrested a drug peddler Towseef Ahmad Mir, son of Mohammad Yousuf Mir, resident of Brawbandina after 1.240 kg of cannabis-like substance (in shape of sticks) was recovered from his possession.
At Tri-Junction Vuhlutra-Shutloo Panzalla (Sopore), one Basharat Ahmad Beigh, son of Mohammad Afzal Beigh of Badam Bagh Sopore after arrested 312 tablets of SpasmoProxyvon Plus and cash of ₹10,000 was recovered from his possession.
Cases under relevant sections of NDPS Act have been registered at respective police stations for investigations, police said.
