According to the Chief Engineer (Distribution), KPDCL, the shutdowns are essential to carry out Phase II and III construction work of the 33KV GIS Lassipora-Pulwama line under the UT Capex Budget 2023–24 for the evacuation of power from GIS Lassipora. As a result, the 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Pulwama, Pinglana, Tenghar, COVID Hospital, and MM Floor Mill will remain non-operational. The power supply to areas including Main Pulwama, Monghama, Sirnoo, Thamuna, Babhara, Tikina, Sheikhhara, Pinglana, Gundipora, Gangoo, Wagum, Tenghar, Muchpuan, Tengpora, Koil, and others will be affected on April 14, 16, 20, and 22 from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Similarly, to facilitate stabilization works of the 11KV feeder from Sazgaripora to Aali Masjid for supplying power to the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) at Ali Jan Road, a shutdown of the 33KV Khanyar Line will be observed. Consequently, Receiving Stations at Khanyar, Rainawari, and Takenwari will remain shut, impacting power supply to Miskeen Bagh, Rosebal, Hazaribagh, Kondebal, Hasanabad, Jogi Lankar, Palpora, Sangam, and JLNM Hospital. The outage will occur on April 15, 17, and 19 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

In addition, the 33KV Bagh-i-Ali Mardan Khan–Takanwari line (under STD-1st jurisdiction) will also be shut on the same dates and times, affecting power supply to Fateh Kadal, Khayam, and Khankahi Mohalla.

For utility shifting related to the Pattan bypass four-lane project by the Beacon Authority, the 33 kV Pattan-Amargarh line will be shut on April 16 from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM, impacting Receiving Stations and power supply in Hamray, Palhalan, and surrounding areas.

On the same day, April 16, the 33 kV Markundal Tap line will be shut down to facilitate the erection of an 11-meter ST pole by SDO Pattan, leading to a power outage in Aglar and its adjoining areas during the same timeframe.

Additionally, the 33KV HMT line will undergo shutdown for utility shifting on the four-lane Pattan bypass, affecting Receiving Stations at Nihalpora, Mirgund, and Singhpora. Power supply to these areas will be interrupted on April 16 from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

For stringing conductor work on the 11 kV Harie feeder by M/s Vikran, the 33 kV Keran Tap line will also remain shut on April 16, impacting the Keran Receiving Station and surrounding areas from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Lastly, to stabilize ACSR conductors on new poles, the 33 kV Wanpoh, Ashajipora & Wanpoh Malaknag lines will be shutdown on April 15 and 17. Receiving Stations at Ashajipora, Dialgam, Malaknag, Brakpora, and Janglat Mandhi will be affected, resulting in power outages in Ashajipora, Dialgam, Malaknag, Hazratbal, Brakpora, and Doonipawa from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

KPDCL has urged residents in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements in advance and has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused.
