JAMMU: A delegation of OBC/SC/ST led by former Minister Ram Paul today called on Minister for Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, at Civil Secretariat, Jammu.

The delegation presented a set of demands, including reconstitution of the OBC Board, reservation in promotions, safeguarding constitutional provisions for the welfare of underprivileged communities among others.

The delegation also raised the issue of the implementation of reservation in admission to professional educational institutions and recruitments in letter and spirit.

The Minister, while advocating social justice, equality and inclusive development as among the top priorities of the present dispensation, assured the delegation that the Cabinet Sub-Committee is looking into all the issues and grievances.

He added that various policies and programs have already been implemented aimed at fostering inclusive growth for marginalised sections of society.
