GMC Srinagar gets accreditation for Superspeciality course

SRINAGAR: In a significant development for medical education in Jammu and Kashmir, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has granted accreditation to the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar, for the DrNB Thoracic Surgery programme.

This accreditation marks a major milestone in the development of medical education in Jammu and Kashmir, enhancing the region’s capacity for specialized medical training.

Principal, GMC Srinagar complimented the HOD CVTS Prof (Dr) Mohammad Akbar Bhat and other Faculty & staff of CVTS Deptt Dy Registrar Academics Prof (Dr) Mohammad Saleem Ittoo and administration of GMC Srinagar for the achievement.

She said, “We are thrilled to receive this accreditation, which is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our faculty and staff. This achievement will significantly enhance our institution’s reputation and provide our students with new opportunities for specialized training.”
