Srinagar: Police in Anantnag have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Saturday.
He said at Chenar Crossing, Sirhama, police intercepted a motorcyclist Faizan Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Hassan Bhat, resident of Marhama and recovered 300 grams of illicit cannabis powder from his possession. Faizan was arrested and his motorcycle ((JK11C-0712) seized.
At Padderpora, Chittergul, 250 grams of cannabis powder were recovered from the possession of Gulzar Ahmad Hajam, son of Nund Hajam, resident of Padderpora, Chittergul. Hajam was also arrested.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations for further investigation, police said.
