MLA Gulmarg chairs key meeting to review development plan for 2025-26

Srinagar: MLA Gulmarg, Farooq Ahmad Shah, today chaired an important administrative meeting to review the draft development plan for the financial year 2025-26.

The meeting focused on boosting the local economy of Gulmarg, with special attention to agriculture, tourism, and animal and sheep husbandry. The MLA emphasized that these sectors have huge potential in the constituency, and with proper development, they can generate employment and improve the lives of local residents.

He called on all departments to work in close coordination and put in their best efforts to ensure the overall development of the Gulmarg constituency.

The meeting was attended by senior officials, including SDM Gulmarg, CEO Gulmarg Development Authority, officers from the Tourism Department, Tehsildars, BDOs, and Executive Engineers of various departments.

Key areas of discussion included improving infrastructure, promoting eco-friendly tourism, supporting livestock and farming initiatives, and ensuring better coordination between departments for the smooth and timely execution of projects.

MLA Farooq Ahmad Shah also urged officers to stay connected with the public, address their concerns quickly, and work with honesty and dedication. He said that with collective efforts, Gulmarg can become a shining example of economic and sustainable growth.

Later, the MLA visited the PHE store to inspect the stock of pipes. He also visited Tangmarg Hospital to review the site plan for the upcoming 20-bedded hospital building, where construction work is expected to begin soon.
