The festival is marked as the occasion when the month-long fasting (Roza) of Ramadan comes to an end. Eid-Ul-Fitr symbolizes the need to perform deeds of charity by giving Zakat to the poor and needy, and giving back to the community by engaging in humanitarian acts.

The festival is characterised by spreading the feelings of love, compassion and affection among fellow human beings.

The DC added that while people are delighted to celebrate the completion of Ramadan, the spirit should continue throughout the year with core values of charity, cooperation and compassion that drive humanity on this planet.
