Srinagar: Police in Budgam arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Friday.
He said at a checkpoint near Sports Stadium Charar-I-Sharief, police intercepted a vehicle (JK01AS-9968) for routine checking. During the search of the vehicle, heroin-like substances in two separate paper rolls weighing 12 grams approximately were recovered.
Subsequently, two individuals boarding this vehicle — Imran Ahmad Qasba, son of Nazir Ahmad Qasba of Mehjoor Nagar Srinagar, and Imran Ahmad Shah, son of Ghulam Mohammad Shah of Mangan Wachi Kanipora Srinagar — were arrested and the vehicle seized.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Charar-I-Sharief for investigation.
