Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Sopore and Handwara, and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police spokesperson informed that police recovered 696 grams of contraband cannabis powder-like substance and 34 grams of cannabis from Mohammad Jamal Gojree, son of Ghulam Ahmad Gojree of Watergam Rafiabad, who was subsequently arrested.
On GMC Handwara Road, one Abdul Wahid Bhat, son of Abdul Khaliq Bhat of Turkpora Zachaldara was arrested after 9.14 grams of a brown sugar-like substance was recovered from his possession.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations for further investigation, police said.
