Gulmarg: In a significant move to address parking shortages and ensure smooth traffic flow, authorities have imposed restrictions on the movement of heavy vehicles on the Tangmarg-Gulmarg route.
As per an official order issued by Tariq Hussain (JKAS), Chief Executive Officer of the Gulmarg Development Authority, all heavy vehicles, including tempo travellers, buses, and public service vehicles with seating capacities exceeding 10 passengers, will be restricted from travelling beyond Tangmarg until further notice.
To ease congestion, these vehicles are required to park in designated parking slots at Tangmarg, preventing overcrowding at the popular tourist destination.
The advisory aims to facilitate hassle-free traffic movement and ensure the safety of visitors and residents. Authorities have urged all stakeholders, including transport operators and tourists, to cooperate with the new directive.
Gulmarg, a renowned winter and summer tourist hub, often faces traffic congestion due to high tourist footfall, particularly during peak seasons. The restriction is expected to help manage vehicular movement and enhance the overall experience for visitors.
