As part of its commitment to providing accessible and flexible education, IGNOU has introduced Four-Year Undergraduate Programmes (FYUP) in various disciplines, including Commerce, Economics, History, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology, Anthropology, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu, Social Work, Philosophy, Biochemistry, and Facilities & Service Management.

Prospective students can choose their preferred study centre, with IGNOU study centres established in almost all Government Degree Colleges across Kashmir Valley, along with additional centres at SKIMS, NIELIT, Composite Regional Centre Srinagar, Kashmir University, and the Union Territories of Kargil & Ladakh. A special study centre at Regional Centre Srinagar offers select programmes unavailable at other Learner Support Centres.

For students interested in Information Technology-based programmes like BCA, MCA, and MSc (Information Security), NIELIT Srinagar serves as a key study centre. Notably, NIELIT extends support beyond academics, offering mentorship and training programmes for students interested in entrepreneurship in the IT and electronics sector.

In addition to fresh admissions, the last date for re-registration for January 2025 has also been extended till 31st March 2025, with a late fee of ₹200. This applies to all programmes in ODL and online mode, except semester-based courses. Enrolled learners are advised to complete their re-registration for the 2nd/3rd year well in advance to avoid last-minute congestion.

Speaking on the development, Dr. A. H. Rizvi, Regional Director, IGNOU Srinagar, reaffirmed the university’s commitment to providing quality, accessible, and flexible educational opportunities for learners across the Kashmir Division and the UT of Ladakh. He urged prospective students to utilize this extended deadline and enrol in their preferred programmes without delay.

For further inquiries or assistance, students are advised to contact IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar or visit the official websites ignou.ac.in or rcsrinagar.ignou.ac.in.
