SRINAGAR: Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary, today conducted an extensive visit to Bone & Joint Hospital, Barzulla, Srinagar, to review progress on ongoing development projects.

The visit was aimed to assess key infrastructural works and ensure their timely completion to enhance public healthcare services.

During the visit, the deputy Chief minister inspected the newly constructed hospital building, emphasizing the importance of modern healthcare infrastructure to cater to the growing medical needs of the people. He directed the executing agencies to expedite the pace of work while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Interacting with the officials and local residents, the deputy Chief minister sought feedback on the infrastructural developments in the area. He reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment towards accelerating developmental projects for the welfare of the people of the UT.

The deputy Chief minister was briefed by Professor Dr Altaf Ahmad Kawoosa, HOD Orthopaedics, GMC Srinagar, about the newly constructed building of Bone and Joint Hospital at Barzulla, Srinagar.

Speaking on the occasion, the deputy Chief minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment towards ensuring high-quality healthcare and public services. He assured that all necessary measures will be taken up to equip the Bone & Joint Hospital with state-of-the-art medical facilities and improve healthcare infrastructure.

Later, the Chief Engineer PWD (R&B), Kashmir presented comprehensive reports on the physical and financial milestones of various ongoing projects. These included Convent Bridge, Rajbagh, Srinagar, New Bridge, Parimpora-Shaltang Flyover and Foot Over Bridge at Children Hospital, Bemina, Srinagar, pedestrian safety measures and Boulevard Road widening proposal and traffic decongestion initiative.

The Dy CM also visited the New Convent School Bridge, where he reaffirmed the Government’s assurance towards enhancing infrastructure that benefits both the residents and visitors. He assured full support for the timely completion of all critical projects.

Reaffirming the Government’s commitment to speed up the infrastructural projects, the deputy Chief minister stressed the importance of holistic development, prioritising key infrastructure and welfare initiatives for public benefit. He directed the officials to address any bottlenecks and ensure that all projects were completed within the stipulated deadlines.

The deputy Chief minister was accompanied by Advisor to CM, Nasir Aslam Wani; MLA, Khansahib, Saif Ud Din Bhat; Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, District Development Commissioner Srinagar, Commissioner, SMC/CEO Srinagar Smart City, VC SDA, VC J&K LCMA, Chief Engineer, PW (R&B), Central, Kashmir, Principal GMC Srinagar, Medical staff of Bone & Joint Hospital, district and sectoral officers.
