  Police solves theft case in Ganderbal, recovers stolen gold

Srinagar: Police in Ganderbal have solved a case of theft by apprehending five individuals and recovering stolen gold valued at lakhs of rupees from them.

Police Station Lar, investigating a case of theft at the residence of Abdul Rehman Shah of Check Yangoora, identified and summoned several suspects for questioning, including Imtiyaz Ahmad Gooru from Authkhroo Rabitar (currently residing in Parimpora), Hilal Ahmad Dar from Gund Roshan Rabitar, Adil Ahmad Sofi from Gund-Roshan Rabitar, Javid Ahmad Mir from Guzhama Ganderbal and Lateef Ahmad Dar from Wangipora Sumbal.

During questioning, the accused confessed to the crime and revealed their involvement in multiple thefts across various police stations in the valley.

Based on their disclosures, police recovered stolen gold items worth ₹5,50,588, including three gold coins, eight gold rings, two pairs of earrings, one pair of jumkas, and a gold chain. An Alto car (JK01J-7340), used in the commission of the crime, was also seized, police said.
