As Showkat was speaking, BJP MLA Sham Lal Sharma asked him to talk about 1931.

“They are our heroes,” Altaf Kaloo of NC responded.

Countering him, BJP MLA Sunil Sharma said that they are traitors and will remain traitors, triggering strong protests from NC and Kashmir-based opposition parties.

Amid protests over remarks of Sharma, CPI (M) leader Muhammad Yosouf Tarigami urged the Speaker to take note of his words.

“Derogatory remarks were used against Martyrs of 1931. 1931 Martyrs were called traitors. Maintain decorum of the House. You are the actual traitors,” Tarigami said, pointing to BJP legislators.

MLA Langate Khursheed Sheikh demanded expunging of remarks made by BJP leader.Later, the speaker expunged the remarks made by Sharma—(KNO)
