Farooq Ahmad Shah inaugurates 1.18 crore irrigation tube well in Waripora

Tangmarg: In a major step towards strengthening the region’s water infrastructure, MLA Gulmarg Farooq Ahmad Shah inaugurated the 1.18 crore Tube Well Irrigation Scheme at Waripora Tangmarg.

The scheme will provide irrigation to 95 hectares (1,878 kanals) of farmland, benefiting the villages of Waripora, Chichlora, Dhobiwan, and Lalpora.

Following the inauguration, Farooq Ahmad Shah inspected the Lalpora Water Supply Scheme, a 12 crore project aimed at delivering filtered drinking water to four villages. He reviewed the progress and directed

officials to ensure timely completion so residents can benefit with filter and safe water.

Additionally, he inspected the Chichlora-Batpora Water Supply Scheme, costing 13.67 crore, which will provide filtered water to seven villages of the Kunzer area.The project is nearing completion and will be commissioned soon.

During his address, Shah emphasized his commitment to providing filtered drinking water to every village of Gulmarg constituency within the next five years. He directed engineers to prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for upcoming projects to accelerate development and meet this ambitious target.

We are committed to ensuring that every household in Gulmarg constituency receives safe and filtered drinking water,” Shah stated.

During his visit, He was accompanied by SDM Gulmarg, Xen PHE Irrigation Tangmarg, AEE PHE, AEE Irrigation, and other senior officials from the department.
