KU students shine at 38th National Youth Festival, win top prizes in fine arts

Srinagar: The University of Kashmir (KU) continues its winning streak, with its fine arts team securing two prizes at the 38th Inter-University National Youth Festival, organized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and hosted by Amity University, Noida.

After the recent victory of the university’s debating team in Delhi, the Fine Arts contingent showcased outstanding artistic excellence at the prestigious national-level competition.

Suhail Muhammad Khan bagged the second prize, while Heena Mushtaq, accompanied by Jaza Bashir, clinched the third prize in the Mehendi design competition.

Congratulating the winners, Vice Chancellor, KU Prof. Nilofer Khan, said the university takes immense pride in the achievements of its students. “Our students continue to make a mark at national platforms, demonstrating their talent, dedication, and creativity. This success reinforces our varsity’s commitment to fostering excellence in all spheres,” she said.

Registrar KU Prof. Naseer Iqbal, lauded the students for their commendable performance, stating that winning at such a prestigious festival reflects their immense potential.

Dean Students’ Welfare KU Prof Pervez Ahmed, also congratulated the team, emphasizing that the university will continue to encourage and support students in their pursuit of excellence in cultural and artistic domains.

Dr. Shahid Ali Khan, Cultural Officer KU and mentor of the team, expressed his delight at the students’ performance and said that the students have once again brought laurels to the university at the national level which is a testament to their hard work and the university’s vibrant cultural ecosystem.
