Besides, Finance Officer University of Jammu Dr Jatinder Khajuria and Joint Secretary JKBOSE Dr Sudhir Singh have been shortlisted for the post of Chairman JKBOSE.

“The shortlisted applicants are hereby informed to appear before the search committee for interaction on March 5 of 2025 at 12 noon in the committee meeting room, 3rd floor main building civil secretariat Jammu,” the official document reads.

Pertinently, the J&K Government had in December last year reconstituted a search committee for recommending the panel of the candidates for the appointment as Chairman JKBOSE and the Director J&K SCERT.

The committee is headed by Administrative Secretary Agricultural Production Department as its chairman while the Administrative Secretary of School Education Department (SED), GAD and Higher Education Department (HED) will be the members of the committee.

The other two members of the search committee are Vice Chancellor University of Kashmir (KU) and Vice Chancellor University of Jammu (JU).

The two-year term of incumbent Chairman JKBOSE expired on January 25 of 2025. However, the government on February 5 of 2025 extended his term for one month, which expired on February 24 of 2025.

Currently, JKBOSE is headless at a crucial time when the JKBOSE annual examinations of class 10th to 12th are going on across J&K. The academic session is also in the transition phase as the schools are scheduled to reopen from March 7 of 2025 but the schools have not received 100 percent supply of textbooks.
