Srinagar: Police in Srinagar and Kulgam have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession, an official press release informed Tuesday.
It said at Narbal Sozieth Bund, police intercepted a vehicle (CH01M-9496) and recovered 910 grams of heroin-like substance from its driver Ishtiaq Ahmed Khowaja, son of Abdul Hamid Khowaja of Dildar Karnah Kupwara, who was subsequently arrested, and vehicle seized.
In Kulgam, 10 kgs of grinded cannabis-like contraband substance were recovered from Arsalan Azad Ganie, son of Azad Ahmad Ganie, a resident of Malwan. He was arrested on the spot.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations for further investigation, police said.
