MLA Uri inaugurates VMS medical camp at SDH Uri

Uri: The Voluntary Medicare Society (VMS), Bemina, Srinagar, in collaboration with J&K Bank and District Hospital Uri, organized a special medical camp today at Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Uri to support persons with speech and hearing impairments.

MLA Uri, Dr. Sajjad Shafi Uri, inaugurated the event as the Chief Guest and commended VMS for its dedicated efforts in assisting persons with disabilities. The camp, led by Dr. Mir Mohammad Maqbool, Founder and President of VMS, provided free ENT consultations and distributed 80 hearing aids to beneficiaries.

The event was attended by BMO Uri Dr. Bashir Ahmad, NC Senior Vice Block President Uri Chowdary Nazir Ahmad, Yasir Arfat Banday, doctors, and other dignitaries, who extended their support to the initiative.

The camp received an overwhelming response from the local community, with residents expressing gratitude to Dr. Sajjad Shafi Uri for facilitating such welfare programs. Many urged for similar initiatives to be introduced in the future to further support persons with disabilities in the region.
