Bandipora: The Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Sonawari Constituency Advocate Hilal Akbar Lone conducted an extensive tour of various areas of the Sumbal Sub-division on Tuesday to assess the preparation ahead of the irrigation season.
The MLA accompanied by Exen I&FC Sumbal, Mutayib Bashir, Exen MID Shadipora and other concerned visited various areas including MID Shadipora, Wasikhan, Prang, Asham, Madwan, Rakhi Hajin and other areas.
During the visit, MLA Hilal Akbar Lone discussed the progress of irrigation infrastructure, assessed the condition of canals and water distribution systems, besides interacted with locals and officials to address any concerns or challenges.
He urged the concerned departments to take proactive measures for the maintenance of irrigation systems throughout the season and emphasized the importance of timely and efficient irrigation facilities to support agriculture and the livelihood of farmers.
