Anantnag: Three nomadic labourers, including two brothers, have been missing from the Qazigund area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district for the past three days.
According to reports, Riyaz Ahmad Bajad (25) and his younger brother Showkat Ahmad Bajad (18) from Chandanpanjan, Qazigund, and Mukhtar Ahmad Awan from Chowgam, Devsar Kulgam, went missing on February 13.
They had left their homes to attend a wedding at a relative’s house in Ashmuji, Kulgam.
The trio, originally from Chita Danda Panglar in Rajouri district, have been working as labourers in the area for the past six years.
“They took a ride on a tipper truck near Damjan and got off near Mir Bazar to proceed towards Ashmuji. However, before they could reach their destination, they went missing, and their phones have been switched off since,” said Riyaz Ahmad Khan, a relative. “There has been no trace of them since that time,” he said.
The family has filed a missing persons report at Qazigund police station and is seeking help from the public. Anyone with information is requested to contact them at 9682634506.
