Srinagar: Police have arrested three drug peddlers in Kupwara and Sopore and recovered contraband substances from their possession, an official handout informed Tuesday.
It said at Geerhati Kupwara, two persons — Sameer Ahmad Zargar, son of Bashir Ahmad Zargar of Tiker Kupwara, and Sachin Koul, son of Suresh Koul of Nagrota Jammu – were arrested and 7.13 grams of brown sugar-like substance was recovered from their possession.
At at Nathipora Tujjer Shareef Road in Sopore, one Javaid Ahmad Wani, son of Abdul Subhan Wani of Palihar Tujjer Shareef, was arrested after five grams of heroine-like substance was recovered from him.
Cases under relevant sections of NDPS Act have been registered at respective police stations for further investigations, police said.
