Srinagar, Feb 6: Police have arrested four drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from their possession, an official handout informed Thursday.
It said one Imtiyaz Ahmad Awan, son of Abdul Aziz of Daragutliyan was arrested after 16.2 kgs of cannabis powder-like substance was recovered from his possession.
At Check Tapper Crossing, Tariq Ahmad Dar, son of Mohammad Sultan of Doolipora; and Syed Imran Bukhari, son of Syed Qamar-ud-Din Bukhari of Kreeri, were arrested after 30 grams of cannabis-like substance was recovered from their possession.
At Khanpora Bridge, one Rashid Ahmad Lone, son of Abdul Jaleel of Gantamulla Colony was arrested and 98 grams of cannabis-like substance recovered from his possession.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations for further investigations, police said.
