Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in south Kashmir’s Pulwama and Shopian districts, an official handout informed Wednesday.
It said police arrested one Mohammad Amin Bhat, son of Mohammad Akbar Bhat of Wanpora, at Parigam, after 3.5 kgs of cannabis powder-like substance was recovered from his possession.
At Wachi in Shopian, one Aabid Ahmad Bhat, son of Bashir Ahmad Bhat of Ganiepora Wachi, was arrested and 4.3 kgs of grinded cannabis and another 672 grams of cannabis-powder were recovered from his possession.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations and investigations initiated, police said.
Police also informed the one Farooq Ahmad Ganie alias Farooq Jandgur, son of Ghulam Nabi Ganie of Bunpora Langate Handwara, was arrested in Sopore and 11 bottles of illicit liquor was recovered from his possession.
