During the meeting, Sakeena Itoo emphasised the need for more inclusive and transparent approach in policy implementation. She stressed on the officers to involve elected representatives (MLAs) in formulation of work plans in their respective constituencies to ensure that need based works are initiated.

“Public representatives play a crucial role in identifying grassroots issues. The inclusion of MLAs in policy formulation will lead to more practical and impactful decisions, ensuring holistic development of the education sector”, Sakeena maintained.

The Minister further underlined that the coordination between public representatives and project agency will also ensure non duplication of works.

During the meeting, the Minister also assessed the progress on various educational initiatives under SAMAGRA Shiksha. She highlighted that the interventions under these schemes will fill infrastructure gaps, teacher shortages as well as the need for enhanced digital learning facilities in rural and remote areas. She directed the officers to expedite completion of ongoing projects and improve accountability mechanisms for better execution of schemes.

Stressing on the importance of equity and accessibility in education, Sakeena Itoo asked the officers to prioritise underprivileged students and marginalised communities to bridge the educational divide.

During the meeting, Project Director Samagra Shiksha gave a detailed presentation on different aspects and interventions of Samagra Shiksha.
