Srinagar: The body of a man, who was missing for the past two months, was recovered near Budshah Bridge in Srinagar’s Lal Chowk area on Monday, officials said.
Quoting officials, news agency KNO reported that locals spotted the body in the river near the bridge and immediately informed the police.
He said the police, along with SDRF, soon arrived at the scene, retrieved the body from the water using boats, and shifted it to the hospital for medico-legal formalities.
He said the deceased was later identified as Hilal Ahmad Dar (24), son of Bilal Ahmad Dar, a resident of PalaporaParimpora, who had been reported missing two months ago.
A missing report was filed at his concerned police station.
Meanwhile, an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to his death is underway.
