Apni Party is dedicated to ensuring peace and prosperity in J&K: Altaf Bukhari
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) president Mohammad Altaf Bukhari today said the incumbent government should be given some time to address peoples’ issues.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a tricolor hoisting ceremony at the party office, Bukhari said, “I extend my heartfelt greetings to people of the county and J&K on the occasion of 76th Republic Day. This is the day when our constitution was made public. And this is what we seek under its ambit. So today’s occasion is very important for us.”

Replying to a query, he said, “Government has been in place for only 3-4 months. It is better to give them some time to address things. There is no need to comment as the government is itself admitting they are unable to do anything. So we should not add anything more to it.”

Bukhari also claimed that a big change has taken place on the ground as people came out in large numbers and voted in recently held elections to elect their representatives. “I congratulate people for exercising their franchise. We accept their verdict. Today we have a people’s elected government, and not the one run by those who come from UP or Bihar; it is J&K’s own government,” Bukhari said.

“We pray for their (government’s) success. Give them some time to address things,” he added.
