15th National Voters’ Day celebrated at Amar Singh College, Srinagar

SRINAGAR: The 15th National Voters’ Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervour at Amar Singh College, Srinagar today.

The event was presided over by Suhail ul Islam, Secretary, SMC, and Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) of 23-Channapora Assembly Constituency. The celebration aimed to raise awareness about the significance of voting and the role of the youth in strengthening democracy.

During the event, new voters were handed over their Electoral Photo Identity Cards (EPIC), marking a significant step towards their participation in the democratic process.

The program also witnessed the felicitation of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and other officials for their exemplary performance in voter registration and awareness campaigns.

Students from Amar Singh College delivered insightful speeches on the importance of voting and the role of the youth in promoting democratic values. Their speeches highlighted the power of the young electorate in shaping the future of the nation.

The event was conducted under the aegis of the District Election Office, Srinagar. The celebration reinforced the message that voting is not just a right but also a responsibility towards building a stronger democracy.

The day’s proceedings were a reminder to all citizens, especially the youth, of the importance of their active participation in elections to safeguard and promote democratic principles.
