Delegation of DDC members, poitical leaders from Shopian call on LG

JAMMU: A delegation of District Development Council members and political leaders from Shopian today called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.

The delegation submitted a memorandum of demands to the Lieutenant Governor highlighting various development issues of Shopian district. Bilqees Jan, Chairperson, DDC Shopian and Irfan Manhas, Vice Chairman, DDC Shopian were also present during the interaction.

Subsequently, Dr Sapna Sangra, Faculty, Department of Sociology, University of Jammu and Member, UN Women Beijing CSO Steering Committee; Sh Karunesh Gupta, Chairman, Sudesh Ramkrishan Charitable Trust and a delegation of Hindustan Scouts and Guides also called on the Lieutenant Governor.

Meanwhile, representatives of Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj led by its Convenor Er. Kiran Wattal called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.

The members of the delegation submitted a Cultural Survey Report titled “Post-Exile Culture Survey: Challenges, Aspirations and Preservation of Kashmiri Pandit Heritage”. The comprehensive report, prepared based on an extensive cultural assessment and wider consultation with the stakeholders, outlines actionable recommendations and presents crucial insights on the socio-economic, cultural and political issues concerning the community.
