Milan: India’s Winter Sports Team, comprising athletes in Skiing, Snowboarding, and Cross-Country disciplines, has arrived in Dobbiaco, Italy, for a two-week intensive training camp.
The camp is organized by the Adhoc Committee in collaboration with the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS).
The 32-member team will train under renowned international coaches specializing in Skiing, Snowboarding, and Cross-Country skiing. Additionally, the camp will include a Junior Ski Alpine Development Program aimed at nurturing young talent.
“This is a historic training camp in the history of Indian winter sports, offering training to more than 30 athletes and assistant coaches,” said Mehraj Din Khan.
The primary objective of the training camp is to prepare the team for the upcoming Asian Winter Games, scheduled to be held in China in February.
The training sessions will take place at the prestigious Kronplatz Racing Centre (KRC), known for its advanced facilities and FIS-approved international ski slopes.
“Training on these icy slopes is an incredible experience compared to the conditions back home,” said Faizan, a young skier from Kashmir. “I am excited to learn and improve under the guidance of international coaches.”
