Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah Sunday extended appreciation to local residents of Gund Gandedrbal, Pahalgam, and Qazigund for their heroic efforts in rescuing stranded tourists and providing them with food and shelter during the recent snowstorm.

Dr Farooq commended their exceptional hospitality and a strong sense of brotherhood, stating that their selfless actions truly embody the spirit of Kashmir and Kashmiriyat.

Furthermore, Dr. Farooq recognised the swift response of government officials and departments in addressing the crisis, emphasizing the collective duty to ensure the welfare of all citizens.

MP Mian Altaf and Provincial President Adv Showkat Mir also expressed gratitude towards the people involved in the rescue operations.

Adv Showkat Mir urged the party’s Zonal and District Presidents to maintain close coordination with local authorities to facilitate the restoration of essential services, such as roads, water, electricity, and ration supplies, in the affected areas.
