Srinagar: Police on Saturday said its Cyber Cell Kulgam solved online financial fraud cases in which an amount of ₹11,09,565 was recovered and subsequently refunded to the victims’ accounts after completing legal formalities and amount of ₹21,88,715 was put on hold on receipt of various complaints.
Police asked the general public to use their mobile phones and other electronic gadgets with precaution to safeguard themselves from cyber frauds and crimes. If anyone becomes the victim of Cyber Crime/Fraud, he/she should immediately register a complaint on online portal cybercrime.gov.in and report the matter to cyber police immediately.
Citizens were also asked to safeguard themselves from cyber frauds and crimes by limiting personal information on social media. Don’t share Adhaar, Pan card or any other finance related OTP with anyone, police advised.
