UDHAMPUR: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Transport, Science & Technology, Information Technology, Youth Services & Sports and ARI & Training, Satish Sharma, today chaired the annual day celebration of Delhi Public School, Udhampur.

The school celebrated its annual day with great enthusiasm and cultural splendour on the unique theme “Manvantar Manthan; The Churning of Yugas”.

The event showcased a mesmerising depiction of all four Yugas – Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga, Dwapara Yuga and Kali Yuga through a captivating dance-drama performance by the students.

While addressing the gathering, the Minister lauded the efforts of the school in blending culture, history and creativity to deliver an inspiring performance.

Congratulating the school’s management for organizing this event, the Minister praised the school’s dedication towards fostering artistic talent and cultural awareness among students. He encouraged the young learners to remain connected to their roots while striving for excellence in all areas of life.

He highlighted the significance of all four Vedas and its relevance in our lives. He commended the students’ performances, particularly those themed around the teachings of Vedas and Sanatan values.

Emphasizing the importance of preserving cultural heritage, Satish Sharma highlighted the significance of promoting sports and co-curricular activities for holistic development. He encouraged the students to respect and cherish their parents, grandparents and elders, fostering family values.

The Minister appreciated the teachers’ efforts in conducting activities that contribute towards the all-round growth of students.

Students from various classes presented vibrant, theme-based cultural performances, showcasing their talents through colourful costumes and artistic expressions. The program included a variety of traditional and contemporary performances, captivating the audience.

On the occasion, the Minister distributed certificates of appreciation and awards to the students excelling in academics and co-curricular activities.

Later, the Minister visited Palaash and Parisha, the childcare homes for boys and girls, and inspected the facilities being extended to the home inmates there.

While interacting with the staff members and children, the Minister motivated them to work hard in academics, while keeping equal focus on extracurricular activities.

While interacting with the children, the Minister assured all possible support to them and said that all their concerns/issues would be redressed at the earliest.

Earlier, the Principal of DPS Udhampur, Dr. Kunal Anand, highlighted the school’s achievements in academics, sports and co-curricular activities at the UT and national levels. He also presented the school’s annual report, reflecting the institution’s continuous commitment towards excellence and holistic education.
