Srinagar: Police have arrested three drug peddlers in Srinagar and Sopore and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
At Budgeer Kawdara, police arrested two drug peddlers — Milad Bashir Bhat, son of Late Bashir Ahmad Bhat of Dolipora Kawdara, and Toyab Ahmad Shekh, son of Late Mohammad Shafi Sheikh of Surnai Mohalla Kawdara – after 16 grams of cannabis-like substance and 210 grams of marijuana-like substance was recovered from their possession.
At Dangerpora crossing in Sopore, drug peddler Showkat Ahmad Dar, son of Habib-u-llah Dar of Reban Sopore, was arrested and 140 grams of cannabis-like substance was recovered from his possession.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations for investigation, police said.
