Sakeena Itoo visits Kulgam fire-affected families, hands over Rs. 3.66 lakh as immediate relief

KULGAM: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo today visited the fire-affected families of Chaki Nagam of Kulgam district and expressed deep solidarity with them.

During the visit, the Minister met the members of affected families and assured them of all possible support from the Government.

On the occasion, the Minister called on district administration to expedite relief operations, including providing temporary shelter, food and other assistance to affected families in view of cold weather conditions.

She also instructed the Rural Development Department (RDD) to extend support to the families in rebuilding their homes.

Interacting with the locals on the occasion, Sakeena Itoo urged them to adopt precautionary measures to avert such unfortunate incidents.

During the visit, the Minister also handed over cheques worth Rs. 3,66,000 as immediate relief to the families from SDRF.

Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan; ADC, Additional SP, SDM, Tehsildar, and other senior officers of district administration were also present on the occasion.

Later, Sakeena Itoo also visited Gopalpora, Kulgam to meet the families of Mukhtar Ahmad and Riyaz Ahmad, who lost their lives in a tragic road accident.

The Minister, on the occasion, expressed heartfelt condolences with the bereaved families and prayed for highest place in Jannah to departed souls. She also assured the bereaved families all possible support.
