KU launches PMS, CSMS modules for paperless administrative ecosystem

Srinagar: To modernize its operations further and promote a sustainable paperless administrative ecosystem, the University of Kashmir (KU) launched two new modules— Project Management System (PMS) and Central Stock Management System (CSMS)—as part of its ERP-based Administrative Management System (AMS).

Developed in-house by the Directorate of IT&SS KU, these modules aim to modernize operations and enhance administrative efficiency.

The PMS module digitizes project allocations and e-billing processes, reducing dependency on paper-based workflows and ensuring transparency. Meanwhile, the CSMS streamlines inventory tracking and optimizes resource management across various departments.

While inaugurating the modules, Vice Chancellor KU, Prof. Nilofer Khan said, “These modules are a significant step towards modernizing our administrative processes, making sure that the University remains relevant to the current needs and at the forefront of technological innovation.”

She added, “These innovations align with KU’s vision of creating a sustainable and paperless administrative framework.”

Dean of Research KU, Prof Mohd Sultan Bhat praised the introduction of two new modules and highlighted its importance in administrative operations amid changing times.

“By utilizing digital tools, we aim to enhance transparency, efficiency, accountability and resource optimization in our administration,” said Prof Mohd Sultan Bhat.

While demonstrating the new modules, Director IT&SS KU, Dr. Maroof Qadri, emphasized the importance of leveraging technology for governance.

“The PMS and CSMS are designed to simplify processes, reduce delays and promote sustainability,” he noted.

The launch event was attended by senior officers of the University including Registrar KU Prof. Naseer Iqbal, Special Secretary to VC KU Prof. Ashfaq Ahmad Zarri, Media Advisor KU Dr Musavir Ahmad and other key administrative officers.

The introduction of these modules reaffirms the University’s leadership in digital transformation, setting a benchmark for higher education institutions in the region by adopting sustainable and efficient systems.
