Union Cabinet approves 13 new Kendriya Vidyalayas for J&K

Srinagar: The Union Cabinet has approved the establishment of 13 new Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) in Jammu and Kashmir to improve access to education in the region.

According to details available, in Jammu region the new KVs will be set up in Gool, Ramban, Bani and Ramkote in Kathua district), Reasi and Kakriyal Katra, Mughal Maidan (Kishtwar), Gulpur (Poonch), Vijaypur (Samba), and Panchari (Udhampur).

In the Kashmir valley, the approved KVs will be established in Drugmulla (Kupwara), Ratnipora, and Galander Chandhara (Pulwama).

Jammu and Kashmir has received the highest number of KVs among all states and union territories in the country.

Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, in a post on X, expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for approving new KVs to be set up in the Union Territory.

“Thanks PM Sh @narendramodi ji for giving special consideration to JammuAndKashmir. Union Cabinet approves 13 new KendriyaVidyalayas for different locations across J&K, out of which over 50% fall in Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency,” he posted.
