MLA Pahalgam calls for adding Anantnag as a stop for Delhi-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express

Srinagar: National Conference (NC) senior leader and MLA Pahalgam Altaf Kaloo has urged the Union Minister of Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw to add Anantnag as a stop for the upcoming Delhi-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express.

The Vande Bharat Sleeper train from New Delhi to Srinagar is expected to be launched in January 2025. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to flag off the train.

The NC leader said with the establishment of a stop at Anantnag, the endeavour will greatly benefit the people of south Kashmir and boost regional connectivity.

Taking to micro-blogging site X (formerly twitter), the MLA Pahalgam said: “Urging Hon Minister of Railways @AshwiniVaishnaw to kindly consider adding Anantnag as a stoppage for the upcoming Delhi-Sgr Vande Bharat Express, scheduled for launch in 2025. This step will greatly benefit the people of South kmr & boost regional connectivity”.
