SRINAGAR: Expressing serious concern over the barring of Road Transport Corporation (RTC) buses from entering Srinagar city limits, CPI(M) leader Mohamad Yousuf Tarigami has said that restrictions have caused hardships to seamless passenger movement, disproportionately affecting thousands of daily commuters who depend on affordable and accessible transport.

RTC bus service is now a crucial backbone of public transport and has become a lifeline for the common people. Reportedly these restrictions, in effect since November 4 when the Assembly session commenced, is causing a daily revenue loss of Rs. 4 lakh to the state exchequer.
