IGP traffic takes stock of traffic regulation system in Jammu City

JAMMU: IGP Traffic J&K, M. Suleman Choudhary along with SSP (T) City Jammu, Faisal Qureshi today conducted a tour of Jammu City to analyse the traffic scenario in the city.

The officers conducted the tour of Narwal, Sainik Colony, Kunjwani, Satwari, Bhagwati Nagar, Canal Head, Janipur and High Court to assess the ground situation. He visited the road construction/repair sites at Bhagwati Nagar, Janipur, Residency, Kunjwani, and Satwai and took stock of the situation leading to congestion on these locations and issued on-spot directions to the field staff for effective traffic management.

Later, he visited Town Hall Jammu and scrutinized the management and challenging procedure of ITMS challans.

The IGP Traffic J&K issued directions to ensure immediate road-markings on all traffic junctions to ensure Red Light Violation Challans through ITMS. He emphasized upon the need to utilize modern gadgets in traffic for better administration and enforcement.

The tour of the entire Jammu city was conducted to get first hand knowledge about the ground situation keeping in view the upcoming winter season and likely migration of population from adjoining districts of Jammu and specially Kashmir Valley to Jammu city.
