Govt committed to enhancing quality of higher education, research in J&K universities: Sakeena Masood

PULWAMA: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Masood today conducted a comprehensive visit of district Pulwama to review the overall developmental scenario of the district as well as address key concerns across various sectors.

During the visit, the Minister chaired a district review meeting and took assessment of progress on implementation of various schemes as well as developmental projects in the district.

The meeting was attended by MLA Pampore, Justice (Retd) Hasnain Masoodi; MLA Pulwama, Waheed Ur Rehman Parra; MLA Tral, Rafiq Ahmad Naik; MLA Rajpora, Ghulam Mohiuddin Mir; District Development Commissioner Pulwama, Directors of School Education, Social Welfare, Colleges and Health, other district and sectoral officers of the district.

Addressing the officers during the meeting, the Minister underlined the government’s commitment to serving the common masses and resolving developmental challenges with emphasis on winter preparedness, efficient and swift snow clearance operations, ration distribution and power supply arrangements for winter.

She stressed upon the officers to ensure prompt redressal of district-level issues as well grievances of the general public. “Our government is people centric and we are committed to address the issues of people at their doorsteps,” Sakeena Masood said. “Give importance to the issues of common masses and ensure their grievances and concerns are addressed promptly.”

She called upon the officers to work with zeal and zest and ensure that the common masses take due benefits of different schemes of the government. She asked them to create maximum awareness among the public regarding government schemes so that the desirous beneficiaries get know how these schemes.

During the meeting, the local MLAs also briefed the meeting about health, education and infrastructural issues in their respective constituencies, emphasising on the need for timely redressal of these issues.

Meanwhile, Sakeena Masood also visited District Hospital (DH) Pulwama and assessed the performance and functioning of the healthcare facility. She inspected different wards, interacted with patients and attendants. She took onspot feedback from them about the status of health care services provided at the hospital. She assured them to address all critical issues hindering the healthcare services in this facility.

Later, the Minster also visited CHC Rajpora, where she reviewed the status of the hotline facility for the hospital. She inspected different sections of the CHC and took onspot assessment of healthcare services being provided at the facility. She assured the public at the CHC that all the concerns raised would be addressed promptly.
