Congress pays floral tributes to Indira Gandhi on her birth anniversary

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) on Tuesday paid floral tributes to the Former Prime Minister of India Late Indira Gandhi on her 107 birth anniversary and recollected her great contributions to the inclusive development of India while hailing her selfless services to the Nation.

Congress Leaders and workers in a function held at the Srinagar Party office to commemorate birth anniversary of India Gandhi paid floral tributes to the Former Prime Minister on her 107-birth anniversary and saluted her bravery. They highlighted her great contributions and supreme sacrifices for the Nation saying that Late. Gandhi’s leadership qualities made India self-reliant in every field making it a powerful Nation.

The speakers said the iron lady of India (Gandhi) was known for her courage and vision, she always remained at the forefront to safeguard the Nation from both external and internal threats and gave supreme sacrifices for the integrity and sovereignty of the country. Gandhi made every endeavor to bring India at par with powerful countries in the world and was recognized as a tallest and most courageous leader, whose administrative skills and political acumen transformed India into a developing and prosperous Nation, which cannot be denied.

Gandhi led the Nation to economic empowerment and development. She was known for her vision and decisions and left no stone unturned to empower people of every section equally without any discrimination, the speakers added and said her resolve was that poverty should be eliminated, inequalities be removed and injustice should end this was her goal for that matter she struggled throughout her life for accomplishing this mission, her words and action were always in tandem with each other.

The economic policy of Indira Gandhi was characterized by moderate tax increases on higher income Indians, bank nationalization and the green evolution, Gandhi presided over three five-year plans as Prime Minister, two of which culminated in meeting the targeted growth she had set for the inclusive development of the country.

Srinagar DCC President Irfan Naqib presided over the function.Senior Leaders Abdul Gani Khan, Nissar Ahmad Mundoo, Abid Imtiyaz Bhat, Shameema Raina, Umer Jaan, Mir Ruvais, Dr.Audil Farooq Mir, Raja Waseem, Gh. Mohd Allai, Nargis and various other leaders and workers spoke on the occasion.

Similar functions were held in Baramulla, Anantnag, Shopian, Kulgam and other districts in Kashmir province where District Congress Committee Presidents and senior leaders paid rich tributes to India Gandhi on her birth anniversary.
