An exciting 48-hour race across multiple disciplines is being hosted in Malaysia. A team of four members, three of them from Jammu and Kashmir, has set off for Malaysia to participate in the prestigious event.

Speaking on the occasion, Advisor to Chief Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani said the team comprising four talented individuals is all set to participate in the high-profile event being hosted in a Southeast Asian country, and that they are planning to organize a similar event in Jammu and Kashmir next year.

“The government is striving diligently to encourage children’s interest in sports activities, which is truly a remarkable achievement. In today’s world, various new sports activities have emerged in response to the changing landscape of games,” Wani told the media on the sidelines of the vent at his official residence at Gupkar Road.

Our team is attending a 48-hour event in Malaysia. We are optimistic about their chances of winning a medal. Besides, we are contemplating organising a similar event in Kashmir in June next year, he added.

While applauding the team, MLA Gulmarg and former bureaucrat Farooq Ahmad Shah expressed hope that Team India will bring laurels to the nation and make this event a milestone for the country.

“Three out of the four team members are from Jammu and Kashmir, and they will be participating in the upcoming Asia Cup held in Malaysia, which is an adventure race. We have high hopes that our sportsmen will achieve success and make us proud,” Shah told the media, adding, we plan to host the next Rafting World Cup in Jammu and Kashmir next year, considering the vast talent for sports in the Union Territory.
